Our Why

MJ Learning & Behavior Solutions was founded to help children and families feel supported, empowered, and understood. I provide expert guidance, parent advocacy, and personalized support in the areas of education, behavior, and social-emotional development—with services offered locally in Scottsdale and virtually across the U.S.

With over a decade of experience as a school psychologist and assistant principal, I bring deep expertise and a heartfelt commitment to helping children with learning differences, ADHD, anxiety, and behavior challenges get the support they need to thrive—both in and out of the classroom. I believe in the power of strong school-family partnerships, and I’ve dedicated my career to advocating for students and guiding parents through IEPs, 504 plans, and school systems.

In addition to consultation and advocacy, I offer psychoeducational testing, parent coaching, and individual or small group sessions to help children ages 3 and up build confidence, emotional regulation, social skills, and executive functioning. My goal is simple: to meet every child where they are and help them thrive—in school and in life.

Founder bio

Hi, I’m Maggie Jerkovich, founder of MJ Learning & Behavior Solutions.

As a school psychologist and former elementary assistant principal, I understand how overwhelming the education system can feel for families. I’m passionate about simplifying that process—helping parents understand their rights, navigate services, and access meaningful support for their children.

Beyond consultation and advocacy, I care deeply about helping kids grow into confident, emotionally aware, and socially connected individuals. Whether I’m working one-on-one with a child or supporting families behind the scenes, my goal is always the same: to meet each student where they are and help them thrive—in school, in relationships, and in life.

I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa, a Master’s in Educational Psychology and Specialist’s degree in School Psychology from National Louis University, and a Master’s in School Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University. I’m also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) with over 13 years of experience supporting children and families in both public and private settings.

Personally, I’m a Chicago native and mom to one spirited little girl. I now call Scottsdale home, and when I’m not working with families, you can usually find me playing mah jong, cozied up with a book, or planning our next travel adventure. I love spending time outdoors—especially when it involves sunshine and an iced matcha in hand.
